UPDATE: MEET POSTPONED
RAGGED MOUNTAIN CUP HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
After talking to several coaches, AD’s, Steve Murray and Dr. Wilder, we have
decided to postpone the Cup due to the high temperatures and heat index
forecasted for tomorrow afternoon. The VHSL has a new rule this year that
prohibits any athletic activity when the heat index is 105+, and tomorrow’s
is supposed to be in the 100-105 range. Since there are no conflicts with
Panorama scheduling or other meets next week, we will have the Cup next
Tuesday, September 7th with the same time schedule.
The Official Start of the 2010 Season
Just a reminder: practice officially begins on Monday, August 2. We will practice each weekday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Monday through Thursday, we will meet at the CHS upper baseball field. On Fridays, we’ll meet at Darden Towe Park (directions) for a change of scenery. This is official practice, so unless you’re out of town, you should be there.
Remember: you must have an official physical on file to practice.
And, finally, do some recruiting. The more the merrier (and probably faster).
Summer Training
Practice doesn’t officially start until August 2nd. But, we need to get a head start on the season by starting to train now! We’re meeting every weekday between now and August 2nd for group runs. 8am at the UVA track. See you there!
(Note: Either Coach Pritchard or Coach Shields will be there nearly every day. But in the event that they can’t make it, don’t let that stop ya.)
Running Camp
Wanna get in killer shape before the season even starts? No better way than attending a running camp. Go for a couple runs per day and spend the rest of the day hanging out, playing games, and learning about the sport. We have a $75 voucher for the Smokey Mountain Running Camp. Pick a week: July 11-16, July 18-23, or July 25-30. Let me know if you are interested. First come, first served.
Info Meeting 5/20
If you can’t make the meeting, you must stop by Coach Shields’ room (C212) to sign the contact list.
CHS XC 2010 is Coming!
